Laptops have become more and more a part of our everyday life to use for study, play and work. These days it's not too difficult to find laptops under $300. You may not find a large amount of variety available just yet, but the models currently in the market are able to get the average job done without any issue.

Here is a quick glimpse at two of the most popular laptops under $300:

1. Acer Aspire One AOA250. Acer is one of the most popular, trusted manufacturers of affordable laptops. This laptop is available in several different colors. A variation of the previous AOA150, the AOA250 features a 10.1-inch LED-backlit screen and a hard drive of 160GB. The AOA250 comes with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet capabilities. Its 3-cell battery provides up to 3 hours of life before needing to recharge. The keyboard on this laptop is not full-sized, but you shouldn't have too much difficulty using it. The downside to the Acer Aspire One AOA250 is that it comes with 1GB of memory that can't be upgraded, and it has no CD/DVD-ROM. Having said that, it's still one of the best laptops under $300.

2. MSI Wind U100. The MSI Wind U100 is available in three colors: black, white and pink. There are numerous specific models of the MSI Wind U100, but each features a variety of the 1.6GHz Intel processor. This laptop features a 10.1-inch LED-backlit screen that looks pretty decent. It has built-in speakers, a microphone and a webcam that you can use for online chat. The hard drive has 160GB, which is sufficient for average use. The MSI Wind U100 has 1GB of memory and can be upgraded to 2GB. Like the Acer Aspire One AOA250, the main downside to this laptop is the lack of CD/DVD-ROM, but that allows it to be so affordable.

If you want to find additional laptops under $300, search online for models that are either old, refurbished or used. You can find these on auction sites, such as eBay, as well as at local auctions and used computer stores. Often times, these laptops are in like new condition and you can't even tell that they were previously owned. Occasionally, the warranty of the laptop may still be valid in case you are concerned about the lifespan of the laptop. While it may feel like you are buying an outdated laptop, the reality is that many models from the past few years are perfectly fine for everyday usage and they only appear inferior when compared to the newest laptops.
