Once again, Dell releases a laptop that is easily capable of replacing a desktop computer. The design of this laptop is just beautiful. It features a crystal clear LED-powered 16-inch widescreen that can be seen from any angle. It comes with home-theater features such as premium speakers with an integrated sub-woofer and 5.1 Dolby® Digital outputs, which really give this laptop a genuine media center experience. The only issue with this Dell, which is the case with many of Dell's laptops, is that it is a bit on the hefty side weighing in at almost 6.5 pounds. If you are looking for a laptop that packs features over portability, then the Dell Studio XPS 16 is one you should consider.

3. Lenovo Thinkpad T400S.
Thinkpads are commonly expected to be large and bulky, especially when compared to other laptops, however the Lenovo Thinkpad T400S is the lightest from its family, weighing in at less than 4 pounds. It is surprisingly thin, but still durable. This laptop features a 14-inch LED widescreen with sharp colors. The keyboard and touchpad of this laptop are simply amazing. Typing on it is a unique experience. Like most Thinkpad models, this laptop is very sturdy and has many ports, however it is missing an additional card slot and FireWire port.
