Dell Latitude 2100 (Netbook)

In order to capture the school market, Dell has launched the new Dell Latitude 2100 (Netbook.) This new computer comes equipped with the standard innards (Atom, GMA 950, N270) and an optional touch screen. Let’s take a closer look at this innovative, new Netbook.

There are a few unique features, the first of which is that Dell offers this Netbook with an optional anti-bacterially coated keyboard. This feature should make it more appealing for schools, as well as make the user less concerned about sharing it.
The Dell Latitude 2100 (Netbook) is wrapped up in a thick rubber shell. This obviously improves the netbook’s shock resistance. The rubber also offers a more high class feel and makes it easier to keep clean.

Dell offers this Netbook in five colors, custom named for schools: chalkboard black, ball field green, schoolhouse red, school bus yellow, and blue ribbon.
Although the Dell Latitude 2100 (Netbook) was designed for schools, Dell still offers all of the usual equipment for netbooks. This new Netbook also contains an SD-slot and three important USB ports. Dell also equipped this Netbook with two Kensington Lock opens, where you can attach a shoulder strap to make the Netbook easy to carry around.

I personally love the keyboard on this Netbook. Although the keys are a bit smaller than full size netbooks, I was able to type on it without any problems, and the upright design of the keyboard makes it comfortable which is a huge plus.

The Dell Latitude 2100 (Netbook) performs just a bit better than most other Netbooks that I have used. It is great for office work and surfing the net. Its performance does suffer at playing HD video and other high demanding applications. But I won’t complain about that small feat; after all, it is a Netbook.

All in all, I would recommend the Dell Latitude 2100 (Netbook.) Although it is a bit expensive, it is well worth the investment. If you don’t wish to pay the expensive retail price for this Netbook, you should be able to find it on an online auction site (such as E Bay) for a more affordable price. The new Dell Latitude 2100 (Netbook) is appealing to both classrooms, as well as the eager students and small business owners.
