The HP Pavilion HDX 16 multi-media notebook offers lots of exciting performance for the money. Stylish, eye-catching, and easy on the wrist, this laptop allows gamers and other media aficionados a fun time. Though it has a few minor faults, overall this is a laptop you'll be proud to carry.

What struck me immediately about the HP Pavilion HX 16 was its design and appearance. It's hard case is described as sleek titanium liquid and is glossy metallic in appearance. Adding to this great look are silver and charcoal lines that race along the lid in an energizing pattern. A luminescent HP logo on the bottom left lid corner has already drawn several positive comments from people who happened to see it out in public.
Right from the get go, the HP Pavilion HDX 16 offers easy setup and surprising speed. I can sometimes get bogged down in first tries with a computer, but this one totally out thought me. Within five minutes I was ready to go. Everything from webcam to Blu-ray, with its integrated remote, worked first try with me in an easy, logical and user friendly setup. Even better, I found that the curved built in wrist pad has a great feel, so much so that I forget I'm on a laptop. And the speed made me laugh out loud! It amazes me that something this compact can be this fast.
A couple of other features also made me smile. The 16" flush glass LCD is dynamite. The colors and resolution are absolutely spectacular, far better than any of the other laptops I've used. As a gamer, I know this feature alone will pay for itself over and over. The DVD function is equally outstanding, and I've enjoyed watching some clips on it already. Out doors I've noticed a little glare, but nothing that I can't deal with.
Though this laptop is a tad heavy in terms of portability, the fact that it houses a desktop replacement keeps me happy. It may not be as slim and as light as some other laptops, but I've found that it sits well on my lap, has a feel of solidity to it, and does not wobble. The full keyboard plus number pad make it even easier to use as a portable laptop.
