Lenovo laptops make a good choice whether you need a laptop for business, school, or just because. I am especially partial to the Lenovo Y510 IdeaPad because that is the one I own, although I think I would be happy with anything Lenovo makes.

Although I use my Lenovo laptop mainly for work, it performs just as well when I want to kick back and watch YouTube videos or pop in one of my own DVDs. Although the Y510 is branded as a mid-range model, it delivers big. With 4 speakers on the front, volume control, and multimedia touch buttons right by the keyboard, you can easily control all aspects of your listening or viewing pleasure in just seconds without having to access program controls.

The Y510 comes with a built-in webcam, which works with the VeriFace face recognition software. All you do is “register” your face and your image becomes your password. This is a great feature if you want to make sure no one else can access your computer while you’re away or asleep. Although it’s not bluetooth enabled, the Y510 comes with a DVD burner and 2 gigs of RAM so you can watch multiple videos and not have to worry about them skipping.

When you shop for Lenovo laptops, you have a wide variety of options. Choose among their Value Line models, IdeaPads, and ThinkPads. All of their models incorporate OneKey™ system recovery, which means that if your computer gets a virus, by pressing just one key, you can recover from the virus.

In some cases, your computer might be restored to the factory condition so this feature should not substitute for adequate virus protection software; however, it is a feature that you will be glad you have should the need ever arise. Remember, having even a top of the line computer is no excuse for neglecting to protect your computer or backing up your files.
